Jonas Aviation

Flight Simulator

Theory that follows you into the cockpit

A companion experience for home simulator pilots: connect what you practice in the sim with the aviation principles behind it.

Status: in design, not available yet. There is no simulator integration on this site today, and we will not pretend otherwise.

From practice to understanding

Simulators let beginners safely experience things that real training only reaches after many hours: a stall, a crosswind landing, a system failure at night. The Jonas Aviation companion will sit beside your simulator sessions and translate the practice into understanding, one short and focused explanation at a time, linked directly to the Foundations lessons you have already read.

It is planned for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 first, because that is where the community flies today. Nothing is built or connected yet: this page exists to describe the direction honestly, not to advertise a product that works.

Two airline pilots working through pre-flight checks in an Airbus flight deck.
Working through checks in a real flight deck. The companion is designed to explain exactly this kind of procedure.

Debriefs with theory

Finish a simulator session and get the lesson that explains what you just felt: energy management, climbs, turns and the four forces in practice.

Scenario library

Curated practice scenarios tied to Foundations lessons, from a first circuit to a cross-country in changing weather.

ATC phraseology practice

Rehearse standard radio calls in a forgiving environment before you ever need them for real.

What exists today

The Academy. Every Foundations lesson is written so that it can be read before and after a simulator session. That is the real foundation the companion will build on.

And a working simulator session checklist: ten device-level checks for your machine, controllers, audio, display and comfort, with progress saved in this browser only.

And a first guided practice exercise: a calm, stationary session where you find the controls for the three axes and look around the cockpit, aircraft-neutral, with progress saved in this browser only.
